About the Studio
The studio at dusk —
a small, patient practice
Dusk Studio was founded in 2017 by Mei Lin Chen, on one belief: that the most honest photographs happen when people stop posing and start living. We work from a small studio in Tiong Bahru and travel throughout Southeast Asia, Japan, and Europe for commissions.
Our aesthetic draws from film photography — muted tones, clean negative space, the unhurried patience that comes from waiting for the right light. Every frame is processed by hand in our own digital darkroom so each gallery feels cohesive and timeless rather than algorithmic.
We keep our calendar deliberately small. Fewer than thirty weddings per year. Editorial and brand work scheduled by the season. This is what allows us to give every story the attention it deserves — from the first conversation to the final print.

Second Shooter · Cinematographer
Based between Tokyo and Singapore. Specialises in candid coverage and short-form films. Bilingual EN / JP.
